My Mom's Favorite Recipes

As a child, I have fond memories of watching my mom cook in the kitchen. She had a knack for creating delicious and comforting dishes that warmed our hearts and filled our bellies. Over the years, she passed down her favorite recipes to me, and they have become cherished staples in my own kitchen. Here are a few of my mom's favorite recipes that I continue to make and enjoy to this day.

Hamburger Dish

One of my mom's signature dishes I learned how to make from her was 'Hamburger Dish'.   It's the perfect combination of hamburger (or vegetarian substitute), green beans, mashed potatoes and tomato sauce, including flavors and textures that always hit the spot!

Thin Pancakes

Another one of my mom's go-to recipes was 'thin pancakes'.  I know the recipe used eggs, milk and flour.  You mixed it together.  You made it thin.  Then you rolled the pan wide crepes up after putting butter or margerine and jam or jelly on them.  After you rolled them up, that was on the inside.  On the outside roll, you sprinkled powdered surgar.   This dish was a satisfying breakfast meal that is perfect dish any morning fun!  I'm reminded of home and when I see crepes that brings back fond memories of happy family breakfasts my sister and I used to love!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

No list of my mom's favorite recipes would be complete without mentioning her famous chocolate chip cookies. These soft and chewy cookies are a classic treat that my sibling and I always looked forward to. The combination of gooey chocolate chips and buttery dough is irresistible and always puts a smile on my face. I still make these cookies often and they never fail to bring back memories of baking with my mom in the kitchen.  However, many chocholate chip cookie making sessions also came from store-bought containers you put on a baking sheet and baked, as well.

Spaghetti

One of my mom's favorite pasta dishes to make was spaghetti with Parmesan cheese.  I loved also her rich and flavorful sauce that coated the spaghetti once it was poured on.

These are just a few of my mom's favorite recipes that I continue to make and enjoy to this day. Her love for cooking and sharing delicious meals with her family has inspired me to carry on her legacy in my own kitchen. I am grateful for the memories and traditions that she has passed down to me through her delicious recipes, and I will always cherish the time spent cooking and creating meals with her. My mom's favorite recipes will always hold a special place in my heart and I will continue to make them for years to come.
