The Deal
In Page Hearts Card Classic, all 52 cards are dealt evenly among the four players, resulting in each player having 13 cards. The game then begins with the player holding the 2 of clubs playing that card as the first lead of the game.
Playing the Game
After the first lead, each player must play a card of the same suit as the lead if possible. If a player doesn't have a card of the lead suit, they can play any other card from their hand. The highest-ranking card of the lead suit wins the trick, and the player who played that card leads the next trick.
There is a catch in Page Hearts Card Classic – players are not allowed to play hearts or the Queen of Spades as a lead until hearts have been broken. Hearts are considered broken when a player cannot follow suit and plays a card of a different suit, typically during a trick where they do not have any cards of the lead suit.
Scoring
The scoring in Page Hearts Card Classic involves certain penalty cards that players try to avoid. At the end of each hand, players count the number of hearts and the Queen of Spades they have taken during the game. Hearts count as 1 point each, and the Queen of Spades counts as 13 points.
The player who takes the Queen of Spades and the least number of hearts wins the hand, receiving a score of 0 for that hand. Other players accumulate points based on the number of penalty cards they have taken.
Game End
