Principles and Philosophy of Ayurveda

Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine that originated in India over 5000 years ago. The Three Pillars of Ayurveda

Those with a predominant Pitta constitution are usually intelligent, ambitious, and have a strong appetite. Imbalances in Pitta can manifest as irritability, heartburn, and skin problems.

3. Kapha Dosha

Kapha is associated with water and earth. It provides structure and stability to the body, governing strength, immunity, and growth. Individuals dominated by Kapha are typically calm, patient, and have a strong build. Excess Kapha can lead to weight gain, congestion, and lethargy.

The Philosophy of Ayurveda

Ayurveda promotes the idea that health is a state of balance between the doshas, and disease arises when this equilibrium is disrupted. It believes that everyone has the capacity for self-healing and that the body has an innate intelligence to restore balance when provided with the right support.
