Ensure that the cornhole boards are placed 27 feet apart from each other, facing each other with their holes centered.

Objective

The objective of cornhole is to score points by tossing bean bags onto the opponent's board and through the hole. The first team to reach or exceed 21 points wins.

Gameplay

Each team consists of two players, who stand at their respective boards. The team who scores last has the opportunity to throw first in the next round. The game proceeds as follows:

  1. Teams alternate turns throwing bean bags towards the opposite board.
  2. Players must throw from behind the front of their own board, known as the pitcher's box.
  3. Each round consists of four tosses per team, two per player.
  4. Once all eight bags have been thrown, the round is completed.
  5. Only bags that land on the board or through the hole count for points.
  6. Each bag through the hole scores three points, while bags on the board score one point.
  7. If the bag touches the ground before landing on the board, it is considered a foul and doesn't count for points.
  8. After scoring is determined, only the points of the team that scores higher are added to their total.
  9. The team that did not score in the previous round throws first in the next round.
  10. The game continues until one team reaches or exceeds 21 points.
